I do want to let you know what a privilege it is to bring you our annual philanthropic event -Profitable Communications for Non-Profits. From its inception with a few board members over lunch those years ago, this has become IABC/Charlotte's signature event. I am so proud of our chapter for crafting this workshop every year that not only offers free professional development to our colleagues in the non-profit sector, but also honors and thanks them for their work to improve the quality of life in all of our communities. Please join us for this special program, open to everyone, on March 26.

Recap of the February Meeting
IABC International Chair Barbara Gibson spoke on "Career Pathing " at the February 4 lunch meeting of IABC/Charlotte at Bentley's on 27.
Offering advice for all career stages, from entry level to executive, she also noted these career-building steps:
 
Network - help people, which will also make many receptive to helping you
Volunteer - gain experience and networking opportunities
Keep Learning - stay current on new media, for example
Evaluate - take an annual look at where you are on your career path and what skills you need to reach your goals
Keep Your Bags Packed - be willing to move on to move up
