IABC International President on Global Trends in Professional Communications

Come hear the views of IABC International's president, Julie Freeman, on global trends in business communications. For the eight years of her presidency, Julie and the members of the International Executive Board have monitored communication trends and best practices from around the world. Now, in an effort to benefit our diverse membership, Julie will share with us some of the key similarities, differences and changes she has seen in the roles and strategies of communicators.

About Julie
Julie Freeman, ABC, APR, is president of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a 16,100 member professional association with members in 85 countries. She has 25 years of experience in communication and nonprofit management and has helped organizations undergoing financial crises to recover and to rebuild their public image. Since becoming president of IABC in July 2001, Freeman has worked to improve the association's financial health and enhance the value of IABC membership. Major projects have included a branding initiative and introduction of web-based and social-networking tools. Her blog, Julie's Corner, can be found on the IABC web site. She also participates in a monthly podcast, Cafe2Go, with the IABC Chair. Julie has her MBA from the College of William and Mary and her BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
