2010 Marketing Forecast
A partnership of the Charlotte AMA, CDMA, PRSA, AAF, BMA, Charlotte IMA and IABC
January 13, 2009

It’s no secret that the U.S. economy is still in a period of weakness. Consumers continue to cut back on purchases, either out of necessity or just plain worry about the future. This change in the consumer landscape dictates a change in marketing strategy and tactics. To survive and thrive in 2010, marketers are going to be called upon to deliver their best.

How will consumer behavior change in 2010? Can consumers be motivated to resume previous purchase patterns? How are marketers going to tweak their messages to resonate with customers in this environment? What media channels will they choose to deliver them?

The Charlotte AMA, together with the local chapters of CDMA, PRSA, AAF, BMA, Charlotte IMA and IABC, will seek to answer these questions during “2010 Marketing Forecast," a special panel discussion taking place January 13, 2010.

The event will be moderated by Ritch Allison, VP of Retail Consulting with Bain & Company. Allison is a partner in Bain & Company’s Atlanta office, which he co-founded in 1998 after joining the firm’s Boston office in 1995. He leads Bain’s retail practice group in the Southeast and focuses the majority of his client work in this area. Within retail, Allison has extensive experience in grocery, restaurants, consumer electronics, durable goods and other specialty retail sectors.

At this event, attendees will:

- Gain an expert assessment of the Charlotte market’s economic health, focusing on issues such as employment, tax revenues, public services, and job creation.
